Default school me on wheel offsets

im lookin at new wheels, i dont want to run spacers, and i dont want my wheels stickin in/out. i would like a 20/19, or a 19/18 wheel. i would love to do some zr1 spiders in black, but a 12" wide rim wont work?

If you do not want to use spacers, you will need to buy a reproduction wheel. If you order stock C6 GM wheels the offset will be different and you will need spacers.
They make the wheels you want in the correct offset which is I believe 49mm in the front and 56mm in the rear for a C5. I have seen these sizes in the 18" front and 19" rear. Just do a search for reproduction wheels. Also if you order the wheels see if you can get the blank center caps and than order the C5 logo decal. If you don't specify blank caps you will most likely end up with C6 logos.

As I mentioned in my first reply, "I believe that the offset is 49mm front" It maybe 56mm I was not 100% sure. What I was trying to say is make sure what ever wheel you select, that it is a wheel designed for a C5. That way the offset will be correct.

so i guess what I'm asking is how is the the same offsets are going to look on the car, when they come from the factory with different offsets?

a forum vendor here has C5 wheels listed in 56mm offset front and rear

http://www.corvette-wheels.com/c6-z0...oss-black.html

another forum vendor here has c5 wheels listed with almost stock offsets

I am going through the same thing. Don't know if I need 56mm or 65mm offset on the back with the 19x10 rim I am looking at.

I purchased my rims from Wheels Botique. They calculated the offset for me. I also purchased a set of Bremo brakes from them, so they spec'ed the rims to fit big brakes as well. I have Vossen rims, 19x9.5 on the front, and 20x11.5 on the rear.

Fronts installed:

Rears:

Don't forget the brakes!

Lol, it does get confusing. I dont know why some wheel companies keep it a secret. If I remember correctly my 19.9.5 and 20x11's are 59mm front and 65mm back, they are going to vary though based on style of the wheel. I like the offsets on mine but I know its was a pain to decide which offset to go with as they were custom made.

Still don't know what would look better on a 19x10 rear rim 56 or 65mm.
