Just curious, why do you think it is dirty? I have never had to clean a MAF in any vehicle not even a highly modified Mustang GT with a blower and 125,000+ miles.
There is a special spray cleaner designed to clean the MAF you can get at the auto parts store.
Cleaning a TB is easier, which is what I originally thought you were talking about. But the MAF? I'd just spay it with something light (perhaps) if at all. I don't see how it would really get all that dirty.
The 04 aren't supposed to have the honeycomb so i'm not really sure what would get dirty...

i suppose the sensor wires could get dirt bulid-up and cause an inaccurate reading, but I would only think that would be a rare instance and maybe the result of an over-oiled air filter.
My new to me Z06 wasn't running, quite right, It had spurts of really bad spark knock at the top of 3rd gear. Then I remembered that the car had had a K&N filter in it when I bought it. Took it apart, and sure enough, Maf was pretty dirty. Cleaned it with a can of Maf cleaner, and it runs so much better, spark knock is totally gone now.
