I like itgreat idea and I think it looks way better than the stock one. When you cut away the ring did you have to go back and sand it smooth? Or did it look fine just cutting it flush?

I removed the emblem made the cuts and reinstalled it. The emblem is a flexible urethane type of material. It cut very easily. I was going to sand it smooth, but the cut wasn't noticeable so I left it alone.

I used a blow dryer to lift up the inserts so both "flags" are just black, black and empty. Looks much better to me and my Navy Blue Metallic;

I wish I had nothing at all in the front.

I also removed my rear deck emblem.

Some great ideas here. I am think of taking the ring off, leaving just the flags. Getting the STARS/STRIPES and then getting that tinted/the dark overlays.

Anyone have something similiar to that? I know it is a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I really don't care about the whole "it is a 2003 and you should leave the gray one on."

Post pictures if you have them.

Post up anything you maybe selling also.

I have a black rear one - $20 shipped.

I'm right on the verge of pulling my rear deck emblem, in fact I may just march on out there pull it after making this post! I'm also REALLY liking the "clipped" ring for the front emblem a well, count me in as a another copy cat

I just hope the rear deck "shadow" will blend, my Z is 7 years old & M.Y. so it's a valid concern. I pulled my BSMs just after getting her, what color difference there was is long gone now so I hope that will be the case with the rear deck. As far as my nose emblem goes, someone tried ripping it off a couple years back. I got it more or less back to shape but it's still a little tweaked. Additionally, some ace forklift operator drug a tine across the lower right corner of my front bumper cover so I'm eventually going to replace the entire thing... I'll make sure the emblem holes are plugged before painting when that happens

BTW... Is the front emblem a push-pin affair or bolted on?

Thanks!

It is a 3M tape with two small studs to prevent it from sliding. Not screws.

Where are you at? I am on Pearl. May have seen you on the streets.

TR ZO6 with BLACK C6Z wheels.

I removed my rear deck logo and the fade shadow remained so much that I purchased a replacement and reinstalled it. Mine is an 01 vert in MY so the color was obvious even after buffing it and rezanio...

Honestly only real corvette owners would have noticed the shadow/fade, but I saw it everyday and couldn't stand it.

I'm over on the Hickam part of the new fancy "Joint Base Pearl Harbor/Hickam" I'm sure to have seen you cruising around... We're starting to do lunch over at the new food court on Pearl more and more. I've got a MY C5Z, with stock wheels for now Will cya out there & thanks for the gouge!

Oh and vafirevet, thanks for the heads up on the shadow issue as well... I'll see if I can stand it, odds are I'll be throwing an emblem back on same same.

Mark, me and some other guys (Mark - EB ZO6 and Ryan - BLK 07 C6 = both in the Air Force). We meet up every Friday and Saturday night at 2200 in the NEX parking lot where they do the recycling.

I took the emblem off of my 2001 MY COUPE and it did leave a outline of the emblem, it looked like a ghostly shadow of it. I thought it was kind of cool. But we all have our own taste and opinions on this.

Send me your cell number and when we are meeting up for cruises and stuff I will shoot you a text.

Thanks for the gouge Micah,

I've seen the EB Z over by the lodging office a few times, also seen the C6Z over by CE (near the BX). I'm over at Hangar 13, bunch of us with Vettes here in the HIANG Thanks for the invite as well, will have to drop on by & meet up with you all.

Think I'm going to at least pull the back deck emblem & see how much of a shadow is left behind & deal with it from there. A couple long TDY's with my Vette left outdoors will probably "blend" it a little

Thanks again, will PM shortly with my cell, ahui hou
