Default another windshield wiper problem

I recently replaced the wiper motor in my 2000 vette. Now a new problem has arisen. When i put it on intermittent it stops in the middle of the windshield and not in the down posistion. Also, when I turn the wipers off they go down then back up and stop then back down to rest posistion. any clues?

Never did this job but...just a suggestion . ..

Could you not turn the wipers on intermittent

When they stop in the middle of the windshield, turn off the car (not the wipers)

Pull the arms off and put them back on in the bottom position

Turn it back on and test it?

That will not work. Your problem is the motor is not properly aligned with the transmission. This thread will explain the whole procedure:

Post #11 shows an excellent picture of the proper alignment in the park position.

I've done this job twice using this procedure, works great.
