Hey guys i installed a set of lg super pros, high flow cats , and 3'' x pipe w/ stock ti's on a bone stock 04z and was very happy to see a huge amount of low end torque a couple weeks ago. This week end i installed a vararam vr-b2 and put about 20 miles on the car, i noticed a drop in torque over the stock air box
Question #1 will i get the torque back after the computer relearns and i get a tune on the car
Question #2 will i have to go with a callaway honker or halltec to get my throtle responses/ torque back
car is driven on the street only and has not had a tune at this point
Funny but I never noticed a torque loss on my Z06 after my Vararam install. I even did back to back R&R the same day. From my ziptie mod to V-Ram back to zip tie and finally back to the V-Ram! . I have a predator tune and 4.10 gears and my throttle response and WOT is noticabley better with the V-Ram over the factory! I have the identical header system you have.

Did You have the predator tune in place before the vararam???
I may just need the tune and or computer to relearn, they say it takes 40 to 60 miles for the computer to relearn
This is at least somewhat relevant to one of your questions: Just this weekend I went from a zip-tie modded intake to the Callaway and I noticed an immediate, albeit small, increase in throttle response - no tuning or relearning necessary. It also seems to feel a little stronger across the entire torque band. The rest of my drivetrain is currently stock (but not for long).

Hey. I did have the Predator tune in before the intake swap. That and maybe the 4.10's have something to do with it perhaps. Im sure a tune with your V-ram will make a bigger difference!
I think you need a tune if you added headers and a vararam on a stock tune.
Ya that was my plan anyway, just threw me off i bolt on the headers and exhaust car feels real good and responsive and not throwing any codes then i bolt on the vararam and seems a little less in the low end torque . good thing is the car still has not thrown a code yet. tune will come in the spring shes covered and up on the lift for the winter.
32 degrees and snow here in the detroit area friday
With a torque wrench
I think thats the right answer to that Quest. or are you serious?? if your serious, you feel torque and i am feeling the difference
Thanks
Steve
