good afternoon friends. I want to take my 1998 corvette back to west coast. I want to leave today. leaving from the midwest. my tires are "Sumitomo HTRZ 3" bought 5,000-7000 miles ago. Cant remember for sure. I have to leave now. due to an emergency. I need to go back to the west coast. But I'm concerned about rust.
P.S. I'm desperate for a response ASAP. Please. I wanna leave right now.

not sure why you are sharing but it sounds like you have some serious issues.
be careful, the weather changes quickly this time of year.
You'll be fine.....just take your time and if you encounter salt, then do a thorough cleaning when you get west. I hope all goes well with your trip and the issues you're dealing with.
P.S. I should take the phoenix, tucson, wichita route as opposed to the utah denver route aye? i also want to add that my car is full of luggage etc. so im guessing that should help make my rear end heavier thus enhancing its traction...

Just drive the car - if you hit some roads that have salt on them, just slow down and take your time getting through the mess. The salt is not going to damage the car that fast and when you get to the west coast, do a thorough washing of the whole car, especially the undercarriage.
And yes, take the southern route - probably less change of hitting some of the bad weather that can happen this time of year.
Yes, definitely take the Southern route!
And, as said, if you do drive where there is salt, just take a car-wash pressure washer to the undercarriage. If you are still worried have someone put it up on a lift and wash underneath.
Good luck. Be sure you have AAA or road-call on your insurance.

Funny , yeah, whatever salt you get on the car won't do much to it because it's not a considerable amount to damage the frame. Now, if you lived in a place where it got salted over constantly, then I would worry.

I live in Utah, we got clobbered with snow this week, mountains are still a mess. Stay south and good luck.
