Figment: thanks. Hope to see you around Plano sometime.
Cool, that would be awsome:)
Just put the CAGS elimator on (home built .99 cent version). Now that the rain has stopped I was finaly able to jack the car up in the driveway to get at the tranny.
While I was under there I saw those springs everone has been talking about makeing noise and I bounced the pipes. Reproduced the sound EXACTLY. Looks like some kind of isolator on the spring ears is needed.
The Blackwing has about 100 miles on it now and wowzer, I break loose now where I used to just moderatly accellerate:thumbup: I happy with it so far.
Figment: Yep, I've seen and rattled the springs also while underneath. I have already installed the CAGS defeat. Just ordered the Blackwing, a set of Long Tube headers and the Hurst shifter today. After these are installed and I get it sorted out, may put a 3:73 rear in it. I've had spray on my other cars, and would really like to get this one solidly into the 11's without it and on the F1's. Time will tell.
I hear we may get more rain this week-end.
Hey, did you hit Chucks Saturday night? I did a quick drive and walk through about 8pm. Lots of vettes but no Z06s
By rain I assume you are refering to the CAI, not all the rain we've had here which has thwarted every weekend for a while:)
Good question. The CAI on some cars tend to suck up water in puddles if you splash through them. This unit is high enough to make puddles no so bad and the filter has so much surface area that I doubt a slash would bother it. Of course if you went off-roading all bets are off.
Figment, I have read about ( Supposedly) a LOT of SURGE related probs with the Black Wing..........
Did you do anything different, specific, to your '02????????
I was told the LACK of the MAF screen was causing this problem.........
the MAF screen was not removed. It was not part of the installation procedure to remove either. I only have a 100 or so miles on the car, so far a 100% positive experience. I have heard about others removing the MAF screen but do not know why they do this. Looks like it would cause problems with the FI.
I am not worried at all about the BW. I have long-term experience with aftermarket CAI on other vehicles.
