HEY GUYS AND GIRL, I NEED SOME IMPUT, MY BLACK BEAUTY WAS JUST HIT BY FLYING DEBRIE FROM A WRECK ON MY PROPERTY , 11/30/2010, IT WAS PARKED UNDER MY CARPORT AND COVERED WITH A PREMIUM COVER , WAS HIT ON THE HOOD BY FLYING WINDSHIELD GLASS, CUTTING THROUDH COVER ON HOOD, SCRATCHING HOOD, AND LANDING UNDER NEATH THE COVER , SCRATCHING TARGA TOP, AND SOME OTHER PIECE OF DEBRIE HIT THE WINDSHIELD ,PUTING A PENCIL SIZE NICK OR GOUGE IN IT, REPAIR IT OR REPLACE IT??? MY CAMPER, MY HEMI RAM AND MY RAM WORK TRUCK WERE ALSO DAMAGED. IT WAS A NASTY TEENAGE WRECK WITH A BAD OUTCOME
Sue the **** out of them. Sounds harsh but if it was a teenage wreck then 90 percent of the time it will be because of stupidity. Hope they have good insurance with property damage.
They have like a good neighbor ins, hit my maple tree at about 80 mph, with a vw, front end went one way, rest of car and wreckage hit all my other vehicles and house, glass on the roof of a 2 story house,
Sue what's left of the estate if no survivors, and certainly their insurance carrier. It's a pity what hormones and stupidity do to young people. They take the easy way out and leave the mess for everyone else to clean up after.
Their insurance should pay for it. If you don't have that info call the police and ask for any info they can give you from the police report. I'd ask for a copy of it anyway for your own records of repair on your property.
Are you guys serious? Someone died,I presume and you act like so what. I guess none of you ever did something stupid huh? Material things can be replaced, life can not. Good luck with your vehicles OP.

+1
To the OP I would have the cover replaced and then get an estimate for the repaint of the hood and top. I would then have the scratches filled, air brushed, and buffed out while keeping the rest of the money. As for the windshield I would also get an estimate for replacement and then keep the cash. In any event having it repainted for scratches might sound nice until you have to get it painted and then find drips, runs, over spray, crap in the car you know what always seems to happen at a body shop. I would also use my own insurance and have them deal with the other insurance.
As far as suing I don't know what kind of case you might have. All that happened was your vehicle(s) were damaged right? Now if you sustained personal injury or missed work as a result then maybe, but if you try to bring a case because your vette was damaged you will get shown the door.
My two cents are free... you get what you pay for!
You must make sure the damage to your property was accounted for by the investigating officer on his initial report. If you don't, you won't have a case.
One girl walked away, the one whos body hit my camper has a broken hip and leg, she hit so hard on the camper that she broke through the side of it, and as for the driver she has a fractured skull, broken arm, and chest trama, kinda iffy about her, the insurance co has not shown up yet to estimate all the damages, but i have never seen so much glass from a single car accident, just found car parts on the house roof today, what a mess

Honestly, it's just a material thing that can be replaced. I'm happy they all are alive and I pray they pull through.
I'm sure the insurance company will get all of your stuff fixed up.
Probably a bit inconvenient for you, please keep us up to date on how the girls are doing and your repairs.
Hope the occupants of the other car recover OK and that you get your car fixed.
X2
I'm no help on the repairs needed. But I will send thoughts and prayers for the occupants of the car. Everyone makes mistakes. REALLY sad when they pay with their lives.
Everybody does something stupid at one time or another, but they should pay for it, dead or alive. That's why we pay for insurance, right? Just don't after families of the idiots if they are over 18.
back to my original thoughts, should i make them replace the windshield, or let them repair it, and can the translucent top be painted??
I think I would try to get them to replace the windshield. However, with the newer repair technology I think you would be fine. Still push for replacement. In terms of the top I'm guessing but I would suspect it can be painted.
Good luck and I hope the occupants from the other car come out of this all okay.
