Bought a 2003 Z with about 92k miles. I went for the high miles for a couple of reasons, one being price.
It has tint with a silver look on the lower end so I plan to pull that off and leave it untinted for the time being. It also has a short throw of some type in it I plan to take out and go back to stock (I want to auto-x it in NCCC events, stock class). Other then that the car appears stock form.
I spent 15,8 plus taxes on it. I took it in for a couple of fluid changes and found out that the steering rack was leaking badly and the right axle seal was leaking as well. Also found it needs brakes and tires. (center of the rears thin and one front has a gash on the sidewall). While it was in for service I had the fuel filter replaced, tranny fluid, and rear end fluid. I also had the priority issues done, the axle seal and steering rack. I plan to do the tires and brakes this spring (actually just got some Toyo R888s for the rear delivered today).
So with the above fixes costing around 1,8xx more, that snuck up but the seller has expressed interest in helping with the steering rack costs (dealer).
I plan to get the rubber gaskets back into it when I put a stock shifter back in to tone down some noise/vibrations that come up through the shifter area.
Going to get some seat covers, fix a spot in the headliner near the drivers head, brakes, tires, and fix the climate control read out and hopefully it will be good to go.
Its up for the winter but I do have the photos the seller took when selling it. Just a quick post to introduce the Z to the forum.
Ah welcome to the Z06 world. You will love the car, I still find myself amazed at how nice the car is everytime I drive it. Also glad to see another Indiana vette owner on here. I'm originally from Greenfield, but now i'm out in San diego for a few years.
Thanks, too bad its started the snow here and sale went down. Expecting more snow tonight/tomorrow. I'm ok with snow from now until Jan but by then I will be itching to get the toys out.
