I’m kind of partial to the C5. I obviously like C6 wheels, but that’s about it. C3 was a great generation from 68-72. They eventually became mutant shadows of their original design. I owned a 1975 C3, which was a real pile of sheet. Talk about no HP, bad looks, a real low point embarrassment in the Corvette mystique. My Wife has a SKY with 177 HP that would kick my C3s butt.
Then began the C4 era. I don’t have much to say about the C4.
I was just watching the Mecum auto auction and that’s why all of this came to mind. Yup, the C5s don’t bring in much $, but that means nothing to me. I don’t care if mine is worth $5.00; I’m not going to sell it so I will lose no money. Money isn’t the issue anyway. I was just kind of wondering what other Corvette owners opinions are.

I feel that all gens are special to someone, I have to say, To me the C6Z is the best as far as I am concerned, It is fast, Looks mean as hell and will give almost any car a run for the money.

OK, a black C6 Z06 looks awesome because the black grille blends in with the color of the car. The wide fenders are beastly looking and the factory HP is up there. That’s it for me as far as C6 is concerned.
Best all around.....tie between C5 and C6. My personal favorite will always be C2s. C1s were beautiful, and innovative, but junk. C3s started out during the muscle car era, and were a little over the top, and more junk, but sexy. Later C3s, and most C4s could have been skipped.
I have a 69 427 4speed,,,it's a great tinker, fun knock around driver/play toy quality car!! Man does it get looks etc when I'm out in it. But hands down the C5 is the most fun hop in and go car!! ! through 3 are great hobby/collector cars,,5's and 6's are the greatest get in and drive cars. For me the C4's are just OK,,and would be my last choice to own!! For me they are too small,,and after working on a 95(full headers/exhaust system plus plugs and wires) I consider them an under hood nightmare!!! You would have to practically GIVE it to me!! Don't hate them,,,just wouldn't want one!!
I'm partial to the C5 Hardtops (FRC/Z06). Maybe I'm a little biased lol but that's the reason I chose to get mine. It's just something about the body lines that set it off to me plus they have just as much potential as all the others so it really is a question on looks. If looks is the argument then you'll hear different from everyone, it's all personal preference.
Best Performer - C6 Z06
Best Looks - C5 Z06/FRC
Most Amazing - ALL Corvettes

The 8” foot well and having to climb over the frame are nice too. I drove one for a couple of months with an automatic and there was this strange kind of feeling like the rear end got lower when put into drive.
Im a C3 fan.. No Computers, No CLB's, No issues.. Just fun!
yea, the high tech thing has me a little concerned about future potential problems. Availibility to find these gizmos and somebody that knows how to work with them may become issues. I agree, the days of low tech are a lot more simple.
All around- C5/C6 in the modding world doesnt really matter what you start with
Bang for the buck- C5 some real good deals out there
Looks- Early C3s or widebody C5/C6s

Actually, my wife even likes the C-3. She misses my 80, but I like my 79.
She says my 98 reminds her of a car in "Micky's Toon Town" at Disneyland. She likes the long hood of the C3 with the sweeping fenders.. I tend to agree. Seems lately, I get more thumbs up when driving the 79..
