I'm admittedly new here but have a question. I got into a 02 Convertible a few months ago that now has 27 K on the clock.
Is there anything, outside of regular maintenance, oil change, filters, etc. that I should pay particular attention to? It appears to perform flawlessly! (Knocking on wood)
I'm crazy about this car and want to take the best care of it as is possible.

Drive and enjoy. You purchased a great car. I would get your self a column lock bypass ASAP. Post some pics and enjoy your car!
I read some of the posts about the column lock problems. I read that you can determine is the bypass has been done by trying to turn the wheel with no key in the ignition. If it turns the bypass has been done. If its locked bypass has not been done. Amy truth to this on my 02 auto? Mine turns without the key.
Congrats on the purchase and your new smile every time you drive it. 27K on the clock is nothing and not even broke in yet. Have fun and enjoy it. Standard stuff applies..keep the oil changed as the DIC tells you. Do the normal preventative maintenance as needed. As you own and drive this car, remember that you are driving a computer on wheels therefore electronics and mechanical everything. I've noticed from the postings here and my own experience that these cars will warn us when something is setting up to fail. If something happens that isn't right, take a look at it then...don't wait till it gets worse. Personally, I think you've got a long ways to go before it warns you of anything. Have fun!
First of welcome to the vette family. Well heres how to care for your vette or at least how I treat mine. It stays in the garage under a cover, Gets waxed twice a month, it never goes out in the rain because everyone knows that they melt in the rain lol, drilled and slotted rotors after every drive are cleaned with a tooth brush(I use the wifes but she don't know that lol) Engine bay is detailed during every wash. No dirt stays in my floor for more than a day.. Luckly I have a DD car

Thanks for the sound advice. Vette will be a garage queen most of the time. I'm lucky to have two additional DD's. I'm treating it like I did my Harley before I sold it. Always look up at the sky before opening the garage door! Never got caught in the rain and wouldn't even consider snow!
Change, or have changed, ALL the fluids, esp coolant and brake (clutch too if a manual). Look at your brake master cylinder--if the previous owner hasn't changed the brake fluid it will be black as night probably. Enjoy, and don't start modifying your car unless it is a simple bolt-on. (Exception if yours is an auto: If you like performance it is well-worth the money to swap your 2.73 differential for a 3.42 and then get a professional tune. The difference in performance is astonishing. My first C5 ride/drive was in a pristine auto and I thought it was a hopeless slug under acceleration. After I got my '03 manual Coupe I could walk away from him in a race. He HAD to swap to 3.42s after that and he cleaned my clock when we raced subsequently. I plead wheelspin to take the edge off my humiliation. Your car, if auto, could have a 3.15 already and it is much better than the 2.73 but still a bit weak.
