Default Which catback is louder

On a h/c orx car are borla stingers or B&B prt's louder? Which one has a better tone? More drone?

I have the prt's now on my car and am considering going with the stingers. I like the way my car sounds but the neighbors do not share my opinion.

Do you want it louder or quieter?
But my guess is going to be that they are about the same but I do know on an intake and exhaust car the stingers sound really good.

Yea my slp loudmouths are defiantly louder than both of those systems, and my dad said they sounded awesome when I passed him last night at the top of third gear

Stingers will drone. Anyone who doesn't like the sound of a muscle car should be shot on site.

I have the prt's right now and have some stingers in my garage I'm thinking about putting on. The prt's sound good to me but my wife and neighbors want it more quiet. I'm wondering if the stingers are more quiet?

131db with my Borla straight pipes.

Sound is subjective though. What you perceive as louder may not actually register a higher decibel reading. I know that Flowmasters "sound" louder than my straight pipes, but mine beat them out in an exhaust competition. (I do like the higher pitch sound of flowmasters though),

I assume that the bullets have a resonator type muffler, if so they will probably sound lower than straight pipes, but not be as loud when measured. I think the bullets would sound very nice with the resonator in them.

I tell ya what though, I removed my cats and that really livened up the sound. My car is wicked loud now lol

*my opinions are based on the types of exhausts on other Vettes in the exhaust competition.

I had SLP loudmouths and the drone was nasty. Took them off and sold them. Put the stock Ti's back on and did the bypass mod until I find the sound I really want. Bypass sounds good if you get a big enough hole in both pipes.

I have PRT's on mine with ARH headers. Like the way they sound and only have minimal drone at 70 if in 6th gear.

My car is h/c/I no and no cats, it's really loud at 2k rpms especially when the engine is cold. I had the ti's with the bypass mod before there and the only difference I can tell is that the prt's are a bit deeper. I think I'm going to try the stingers and if I don't like em I'll put the prt's back on.

What is that you want, really?? I agree with Rambo77. To me the way a muscle car sounds is everything. Installed Borla two tube stingers on mine and it was a bit louder but still not what I was looking for. Then went with Kooks long tube headers, no cats, and kept the Borlas. Now it sounds wicked, but not so much that it upsets the po-po here in JAX. And they CAN be a bit touchy. It does drone right at 1500 rpm but I never drive it at that rpm. Don't like to lug the engine anyway. Good luck!!
