Default Aftermarket Steering Wheels

I'm sure this topic has been discussed before (I searched and found one thread for sure), but I'd like to revisit it if you guys don't mind.

Just looking to maybe get more recent posts of aftermarket steering wheels you guys have put in your C5. With or without the airbags.

One thing I've never liked about the Corvette is the seemingly large and "chunky" steering wheel. I'm leaning towards something without an airbag, and with more grip.

Let's see whats out there!

I feel the same as you !!You just reminded me of my christmas present too lol
Its probably my thread you found as its the exact title (without the s on wheels lol)

WIth airbags is very hard from what I've seen, There is a company in Germany that has one but IMO

Look up Crowders Customizing to buy a wheel, he'll have what you need.

He mainly sells MOMO and NRG but my Favorite wheel and the one I want is The Sparco Ring:

Aparently you need an old GM horn Contact(youll see that in my thread)

Another this is Disabling the Airbag light ( which I have bookmarked for an occasion like this )

Happy Modding!!!

One reason the stock wheels are larger is so you can see all the dash gauges unobstructed. A smaller wheel blocks some from view easily.

This is my Sparco 383 I had installed earlier this year. 'Vast' improvement on the stock 'school bus' wheel;

Thanks for the input so far everyone. Chris, I like the aluminum bezels around the guages as well.

Choreo, my complaint about the stock wheel being large wasn't with respect to the diameter. The airbag center section I find is "chunky" and gives the wheel a heavy look. Plus, I find that the leather is slippery and would prefer something like alcantara/cloth

I read somewhere that the C6 wheel has a different spline? The amount of teeth on the column is different, idk how to word it

I know for sure the air bag system is different and wont work on the C5

I had my stock wheel recovered by VetteEssentials...

They used CF-Leather on the sides and bottom which worked out great, but I asked them to use Alcantara on the top section and it is "slick as glass" when trying to steer. May just be the Alcantara that VE used, but I would never use it for "steering" again.

I love this one! It looks like you have a little extra padding also.
