However... now the stock underhood light looks really yellow in comparison. I thought that maybe by avoiding the "Cool White" strips they sell it might be a closer match, but the color temperature of the new LED strips is still "bluish" in comparison.
Has anyone replaced the existing underhood bulb with some type of LED array that might match in terms of color temperature? I have seen people add secondary LEDs to the hood, but I would like to keep the stock light/lens if possible and just swap out the bulb inside with some matching LEDs. Seems like I saw a pot on here once where someone had built an LED array inside the sock housing?
I got mine from AUTOLIUMINATION. They have a 12LED module that will replace the original. BTW - the original bulb uses 1.3 amps and the 12LED replacement uses 0.1 amps. Much less when showing the car....
Would love to see some pics from the above described engine bays! Sounds really cool!
Edit - just saw Choreo's other thread - nice pics! Would still love to see pics of the LED replacement to the halogen OEM hood light if anyone has any.

Do you have a part# for the 12 LED? I'm not even sure what the bulb type is under my hood. <G>

Should have some photos up next week on the Forum. Waiting on some Hydrocarbon parts from Pat Scoretti to finish out the next phase of my engine bay and want them installed before I "light them up" for a photo.
I have also ordered one of these to try in the stock lamp to see if that matches the color/brightness... should be in Friday.
