Default Experience and knowledge requested...HELP

Hello all,
I need your help! New to the Corvette scene and need some good advice. I have been looking for a set of wheels and tires for my 04 gray coupe. I really do not like the Goodyear's that came on it (original equipment) and am wanting something stickier. I would like black wheels BUT am willing to do chrome too. I want to put the widest tire I can on the back, these streets are slick and I need everything I can get. I don't want the tire to stick out either . I have seen allot of VERY nice Vettes on this forum and would like some helpful advice. I was looking at the SR1 Performance wheels from WCC but they will not be out till Feb now, also the widest they offer on the rear is a 19x10. Am I correct to assume that I can fit 18x9.5 and 19x11 with the correct offset? I would also love to try the new Goodyear G2 tire, looks like a good performer. My pockets are not deep so I need to keep the total less than $4,000 for the wheels and tires (the wife already does not like the idea of me spending that much). Once again thank you in advance for any help on this subject. I would post a picture of the car but have yet to figure that out, my avatar shows some of the car with its next owner....my 10 year old son.

I'm running a 12" X 19" rear wheel. Not sure of the offset. I run a 325X30X19 without it sticking out.

Your best bet is find a set of OEM Z06 wheels, and powdercoat them black. Watch out for aftermarket Z06 wheels. They are HEAVY...

Then get a set of Nitto 555 RII's. (275/40/17, and 305/35/18).

You will stick really well, and retain low weight on your wheel/tire setup. Should be able to keep a bunch of $$ in your pocket too.

With your budget, I'd look at CCW wheels, instead of WCC. They used to be the same, but cheaper directly from the source. I'm not sure if it's still the same way, and John@ CCW is a pleasure to do business with.

Here you go.

These will be awesome on a gray Vette.

Only 200 mile on them with new sensors and everything.

Read the article and it has good information in it. Checked out the CCW web site and called them today. Like the wheels on the site. He was wanting me to go with 19's all around 19x10 in front and 19x11.5 rear. Said the package will fit fine. What if my Speedo changes? How do I get that fixed?

the speedo will change if you dont select the proper tire. i didnt care about this i went with 19 inch wheels out back and with 305/30/19's out back my speed was off about 5mph @80mph. i was told when i get a dyno tune they can also calibrate the speedo.

Cool thanks for the help. Our Vette club has been talking about getting a dyno date set up.
