Does anyone have a suggestion of a simple I-pod harness to hook up to a dealer-installed/in the trunk 6-disc changer that is running to a stock Bose system? I'm hoping I can tap into the existing changer lines without pulling the Bose out of the dash. I don't care if I can't use the CD changer after the i-pod is hooked up.
Also, is there an easy way to run the wires to inside the console storage compartment? I don't really want to mount a dock anywhere in the cabin, just have the i-pod hooked up and lying under the lift-up cosnole cover with enough slack to be able to pick it up and hold it in my hand when changing music, connecting/disconnecting, etc. I'm hoping I can run the wires under the carpet/out-of-site and directly into the storage compartment. Is this a simple thing to do?
Check the threads in the General Corvette/ Audio/electronics section. C-5 Bearsfan has been helpful to members that want to do what you're asking.
Be warned about stowing your i-Pod in the center console. The heat from the tunnel, which sits directly below the console, can have an adverse effect on the i-Pod. Some members have done it successfully, but after installing some insulation under the console to deflect the heat.

I used Double D's kit that plugs into the back of the radio. It took a couple enjoyable bonding hours to do the install. Follow the dash bezel removal instructions listed on the forum it was pretty easy. I ran the cord under the bezel along the shifter and into the console. Removed the power port, cut a small slot along side it's hole and ran the Ipod cord into the console, reinstalled the power port. There is an indent when you open the console door that you can use to bring the cord back out without pinching it when the door is closed. I prop the Ipod up against the closed ash tray door while driving and listening to tunes. When parked the Ipod and cord are stored back in the console. It's not quite as cool as my wife's new Acadia with a USB port but it's a lot better than the CD player.
I installed PAC Aux-Box several years ago. It's similar to this and works great! Also connected a Schoche Bluetooth receiver so it's all wireless (at least in the cabin).
