I can dig that... but my entire comment:

"... the ZO6 IS the superior player, since it gets us <me> into the game with a competant and exciting car, with a relatively minimal cash outlay."

Suggests that there is more to the overall value discussion than performance alone. For the Ferrari folks it's one set of values beyond performance, for ZO6 owners it may be another set altogether.

In the end, this all comes down to personal preference, perception, and budget, the drivers of any healthy economy, and why the different cars even exist!

I agree with your statements, especially the one about "just because you are in awe of a $125,000 price tag",,. That is the truth, most people that can afford one of those cars does not finance it, they lease it or buy it. And when I say buy I am not talking about payments.

Wow,

Great post. Could not agree more. As a former BMW and Ferrari owner I think for many folks a high end car is about the prestige and is kinda like a real expensive watch. Does everything a Timex does, only its more exclusive, costs a lot, and looks pretty.

For me the Z06 was the best ride to take to the track on weekends. Its cheap to repair (remember I owned a Ferrari). It runs as fast as anything available today, cost to own is dirt cheap(42k new), and it looks/sounds nice too. Is it exclusive? Not so much. Do I enjoy making a pass on a 360 or 911 Turbo? On a road course yep sure do, especially if I know the driver and that he/she is good. Would I try playing with someone on a street in traffic? Nope.
