Check with 'tstar'. He will be able to point you in the right direction.
Replace all of the lamps at the same time. When one goes out the others are not far behind.

I definetely agree! I replaced just the burnt out bulbs and then when I was reinstalling the control more burned out and I had to remove it and get more bulbs. Just do it all at once.
As far as getting the bulbs you can get them at Radio Shack. When I asked the nitwits that work there, they said they didn't carry them. I decided to look through their bulb draw display and found the exact same bulbs that McMaster-Carr sells. They were even cheaper and you can buy the amount you need. McMaster only sells packages of 10. The trade # is 7219. The Radio Shack part #272-1154.

No Radio Shacks around me stocks them, but that's good info!
So all the HVAC bulbs are the same? Could we just order 14 of those exact bulbs and re-do the entire panel's lighting if we chose not to go with the L.E.D.'s?

great info guys this is on my to do list for the winter...if I ever get my home renps done
Depending on how good you are with a soldering iron, this is not a difficult job. Including R&R of the control unit, it can be done in two hours or less. Use a pencil-type iron, not a big gun type. It's very delicate working on the printed circuit panel.
Thanks so much Tim. I'm still debating which way to go
No problem...

Yeah here's the crux of it really... one solder accidental bridge and you fry the power board! Then you're looking at buying a new HVAC to replace the board.
Before you test the HVAC do a quick Ohm measurement between any two leads on a bulb to make sure there is not a short!
Like Tim said, buy a solder sucker. It saved me soo many headaches trying to get the darn solder out of the pass thru holes.
If you are going to do all that work just covert to LED, it was much easier than I had thought. Just need some time and patience. I don't have patience and I still was able to do the swap easily!!
