Default CTEK 3300 Questions

Hey guys,

A couple questions:
First of all, which mode should I be using? There is a Sear's Diehard battery in there, so the mode 14.4V/3.3A or 14.7V/3.3A?

Also, which lights should I be seeing? Is it only one or the other? Mine is blinking orange in the middle light but the light all the way to the right (charging complete) is on too?

Just put it on the last setting (the winter one with the snowflake on it), it will take care of the rest.

Sometimes it will flip over to green, other times yellow, depends on what it see's and what its doing. It goes through different routines, charging, maintaining, desulfating.

Its pretty much just a plug and play affair, no worries

Also, connect it directly to the battery termionals, you do not need a ground

Peace

Am I doing it wrong ???? I leave mine set to the car symbol for the Winter. I thought the Snowflake symbol was for the gel batteries.

Sorry to jump a thread !

Doesn't sound right to me, mine doesn't blink and only one light is illuminated at a time. The middle one comes on when it's charging, then the last light comes on when it's charged. Might want to check your connections. I didn't like the clips so I attached the adapter to the terminals, to do so (mine has side mount terminals) I had to modify the adapter with larger rings and replace the terminals with longer ones that had accessory connectors.

Snowflake is for cold weather (below 41 deg F) and AGM batteries.
The car or normal setting is for 'wet' batteries.

If the charging indicator is flashing the manual says one of three things could be wrong.
- cable loose or battery not conducting

-battery is sulphated - let it run for 30 minutes. If flashing continues time for a new battery.

-If flashing is at intervals of more than 10 seconds there is a high self discharge of the battery meaning it's bad.

I'd have the local auto store double check for a bad battery just in case the unit is faulty but....

Good luck.
