Anyone have any luck with those? I did searching here and most people said that it wasn't worth the money, but then again they claim that C5 owners had been wanting that thing for the longest time?
It’s been yrs in the making! This product was stillborn collecting dust on the back shelves of VR until customer demand and time caught back up to its need for further development for production.
Are there any benefits having the MAF closer to the TB? I have just heard that it makes the engine run smoother.
I also looked at the VR3 Velocity Stack, but I don't know if there's any truth to it. If the dyno sheet isn't lying, the truck picked up some tq, and apparently the C5s pick up 13rwhp from it. I think too good to be true?
I have the Power duct installed and had a problem during install(Operator error). I don't know if it makes a difference on its own but when I installed it with the Vararam intake, I could feel the power increase. Moving the MAF cause a code every once in a while but a tune by VaSpeed cleared up that issue. Hope it helps.
I just ordered it. We'll see what happens, if it's a joke, I'll send it back to vararam. apparently they guarantee their products for performance.
I also ordered the power duct, and then read a thread with all these people having fitment issues. hopefully I won't be one of them.
just FYI, never had any problems installing/fitting the entire Vararam system, This includes the duct! Just take your time.
To th OP, when I had the air mass sensor I had it tuned (ECS) as not to throw codes because of the new location. After the tune it ran a lot smoother. Since my H/C job I have had the sensor completely tuned out and no longer use one
(It's for sale now--cheap)
I have the VR+PD on my 02Z.Everything fit well and installed easily.
For me the PD allows more air,but it's turb air since my 02Z MAF is unscreened. To straighten out the air flow,I also bought the Halltech honeycomb MAF screen.Ran better and no lean codes.
My ET dropped almost a tenth when I added the power duct to my Vararam (12.92 to 12.84).My engine also idles smoother and I had no fitment issues at all for either!
Just did the install of the power duct yesterday. It was easy and figment was perfect. I did put the maf upside down so I to take it all off, fix it and put it back on lol...
Also put in the velocity stack. I can't tell a difference, but it's hard to tell a diff with these minimal mods. I did have a bad seal between the tb and the prev air box which was causing bad idle and an air leak right at the tb. So with that fix car should run much better and gain back some ponies that it lost from the leak
I also ordered the hall tech honeycomb, but looks like I don't need it... No codes plus the car has antineutron, and I can get a tune anytime I wanted so

I'm one who had fitment issues. Turned out they have 2 different motor mounts. I made mine fit and it sucked but it worked out. Saw smoother idle so it's worth what I paid. Never saw a need for the stack. The other deciding factor for me when I bought the duct was I always wanted to be rid of the stock accordion. The duct solved that all for the same money.

I just ordered one for just the same reason, and because it's cheap enough. I wonder though if the tenths or whatever people gain is because of the leaning effect from the MAF location...
Anyone here with MAF screen seen any impact from the duct only?
