Default Question on the Z16 package

I've used the search function but not found the answer to my particular question. Sorry if this has indeed been answered 100 times already.

I’m considering buying an 04 Z06 and have a question about the Z16 option package. Were the stripes applied at the factory and then clear coated over …. or are the stripes actually removable?

I really love the color of the car but the stripes are not to my personal taste and was wondering about the difficulty of removing them without ruining the finish of the paint.

The impact to the resale value of the Z06 is not of concern to me as I intend to keep this vette a long time and put even more miles of daily driving on it than I have on my 95.

Thanks

Yep, they are decals applied on the surface. I just had my hood stripes replaced on my Z-16 and it did not involve any work on the clear coat.

I'm not sure you won't find fading or slight difference in the finsish under the decals, but two shops told they would have no problem remopving the original stripe.

Just buy the Commerative Edition in a convert.
Same color, and NO stripes to remove.

But the Z16 is a Z06, the convert is not.
