Pop off the small ignition lockout cable at the front of the shifter, remove the electrical connector(s), then remove the four 10mm screws that hold the shifter to the tunnel. Don't lift the shifter more than about a half an inch when you pry off the shifter cable end from the ball on the shifter using a long screwdriver; this will be in the tunnel. If the shifter is lifted too much, the shift cable will crack requiring replacement. Don't move it side to side much either. Once the cable is disconnected from the shifter it can be lifted out. To install, use a long wire around the shifter cable end to locate it over the ball end while you push it back on with the screwdriver. The wire can then be pulled out from above. Again, this needs to be done with the shifter lifted up from the tunnel no more than about a half inch. Use caution and a lot of light to see in there while you work. The fragile plastic shift cable is why there are no aftermarket shifters available, it's too easy to crack the cable by lifting the shifter too much.
