purchased a mag. blue convert in june,i have clay bared ,pollished & waxed to remove some of the water ectching . still can see up close . a very good body and paint man offered to wet sand and put 2 coats of clear coat . the price 2 grand . the man has the new epa paint booth .

Location is important, so here's what I would suggest for your paint issue.
You have all winter to clay bar it more, those water spots are stubborn but they will come off.
I purchased a CTS that's Black Ice (basically Metallic Black) last year that had set in the Florida sun on the dealers lot of course they washed it in the sun with our terrible water, so it had some bad spots.
It took me some work but I got it spotless just depends on how much 2 grand is worth to you.
Not all water spots are created equal, if they've etched into the clear, claying will not remove as that only removes surface contamination. Can you post some pictures?
You should definitely give polishing a shot before spending money on wet sanding. Do you have a DA? M105/orange pad, 205/white pad should take care of it. Go with the least aggressive method first.

It's worth a try. Or higher a good detailer to do it for you.
I agree with the post above . Use meguires 105 with a rotary or da machine . I just removed hard water spots on a Lexus using this . It will work .
Use lake country orange flat pads .
