This summer I installed the CLB....now I am hearing that I could still get stuck if I do not have the fuel cut off reprogrammed to 200 miles per hour from 2 miles an hour. Is this true and how do you do it. Is this something the dealer would do ?
Thanks

Won't happen with the CLB
HP Tuner or EFI Live to change it. If your having tuning done it would not hurt to do it but no reason to pay for it.
And NO the stealership will not do it (safety issue)
Actually you CAN experience the fuel shutoff if the battery goes low even with the CLB installed. When the battery voltage gets below 12.5 volts the CLB can fail to function properly and the BCM fails to get the "completed signal" that it looks for when it sends a lock or unlock. That results in the BCM sending an "enable fuel shutoff " signal to the PCM. Then the PCM will shut fuel at what ever speed is programmed into it. If the car has had the GM Column Lock Reccall service, that speed is 2mph. The only way to change the fuel shutoff is as was stated by finging someone with either EFI Live or HP Tuners tuning software. Setting the speed to 200mph means that if/when the BCM signals the PCM for the fuel shutoff you can drive the car up to the new speed set in the PCM.
Interesting,,,I am running just the CLB only,,and it's done a great job!! Was NOT aware of the voltage thing!! She gets driven often,, rarely sits for more than a day or two,,but I will keep an eye open as the Delco is getting close of its life span!! Thanks for the info!!!

thanks.....but do I really have to finger someone..........the horrorrrr....damm you GM....
I will look into finding someone asap as my battery is also the original....I do have it on a tender during the winter in between rides.....snow permitting. Before I installed the CLB I did have a recall done at the dealer...not sure what they did.......the horrorrrr....damm you GM....
Thanks again.

I corrected my "fat finger" :o It should have read "finding".
I had mine reset before I installed the Maggie. Cost was about $100 IIRC. Takes a tuner about 1 minute to reset it but the software they use is licensed per VIN so a lot of the cost is the license fee being passed along. Might be a good time to consider turning off the CAGS permanently and lowering the fan turn on temps. Shouldn't cost any more to have those done while they are in the PCM.
hope you know
i was just kidding with ya ...
thanks for your help.
