Perhaps a silly question, however can I keep the window up and still remove the door panel? I plan to work on fixing my door panels due to the vinyl pull, however since I own a vert, I would like to keep the top up and the windows up in case I need to drive it while the panel is off.
No problems in doing this? I check the VE website instructions and the pics they have show the window down (inside the door) however do not indicate either way.
Cool. I will have the window down when I take off the panel, however want to extend it back up and close up the Vette while working on some other projects.
You should also be able to connect the switch panel back while the panel is off so you can move the window if you like. I've done that several times without a problem.

also, if you have the window valet it is totally functional while you are doing your project. BTW, I have found that the breakage problem with the plastic posts that so many of us have is more due to re-installation, than removal of the panel. So, to minimize risk when you are ready to pop things back together use a small flashlight to see if each post is lined up with the female fastener before you force the panel onto the door.

Thanks for the tip. I plan to pick up a few extra pins at a local GM dealership just in case...
