Default Remote problem

Hello,I have a 99 FRC that i have had 2 yrs with no problems at all.Yesterday remote stopped working so i replaced batteries in both remotes and tried reprogramming thru dic with no luck.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Karey

you don't need to completely reprogram them through the DIC, when you are within range of the car hold the lock and unlock together at the same time until the horn beeps. manual says 8 seconds, feels longer than that when you are just holding it there!

if that does not fix the problem its possible your remote is bad, it does happen.

what do you mean that it doesn't work? doesn't work at all or is it just working intermittently?

there is another possibility, the black IC chip on the board is known to sometimes have a poor connection with the board, over time and being dropped a few times. some have fixed the factory remotes by reinforcing the solder on the pins of that chip. I tried that but it didn't fix my problem. with mine the remote works only from very close range and sometimes I have to hit the buttons many times to get it to respond.
