It's probably like the LG headers where the smaller primary pipe headers after the 3" collector have a reducer to to make it 2-1/2" through the xpipe. I'm assuming it's sold as a set like the LG series with the headers and x-pipe already basically together. I think the theory is there is no benefit to having a full 3" xpipe/catback with the smaller 1-3/4" primaries and may actually hurt performance slightly. You can get the bigger opening cat but you need the 3" midpipe, which probably doesn't come with the 1-3/4" headers.
