Default clear steering wheel cover??

Have a new steering wheel Yellow/Black and I need a clear cover to keep it from getting dirty.

I tried Pep Boys and Auto Zone. Np luck.

Any other suggestions??
Thanks

never saw a clear one and my personal opinion is that if you use any type of "cover" the wheel will get just as dirty (if not more) as not using one. my suggestion is to just make certain that the leather is properly cared for and that you never decided to move the car when you are working on it. unless you work with your hands and can't possibly get them as clean as you would prefer, i'm guessing that usual and proper care taken will be a lot better than trying to figure out a way to cover it.

I use Zaino Leather Cleaner and Conditioner on my wife's bright Torch Red leather on her seats and it does a great job of cleaning the seat leather. That can get dirty quickly with black jean dye and dirt rubbing off on it. It should do a great job of keeping yellow leather on a steering wheel clean.

I agree that if you just keep the leather on the steering wheel clean and conditioned, you shouldn't have any worry about it looking good for a long time. I had a black and torch red steering wheel in my '00 and now have a black and light gray one in my '03 and keeping it clean/conditioned works very well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I pull the Vette in and out when I cut my grass so I am not CLEAN at the time.

I just want the cover to protect the wheel during this time.

I know dealers use them.

I always wear driving gloves when in my vette. I keep them in my console and habitually put them on every time I get in to leave the house. The wheel on my daily driver truck looks like someone took a sander to the finish.

I've never seen these covers, however if the dealer uses them, call and ask them where they get them. Perhaps they could sell (give) you one if you get some service performed.

I'm planning on a custom D-shape two-tone leather steering wheel as well and was concerned if I put a Torch Red leather trim and whether it would wear, however I agree about the conditioning. I had a DD that I put close to 200K miles on over 10 years and I kept that the leather conditioned and it held up very well. I can't imagine my weekend-only, pseudo garage queen Vette would have any issues. Especially if it's good leather.

I've gotten into the habit of wearing disposable gloves anytime I'm doing any dirty work on any of the cars or around the house. You can get a box of them for a few dollars at Harbor Freight. It was a trick I picked up from an old Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer who had been a motor transport mechanic when he was an enlisted Marine. He was helping me with a problem on one of my vehicles. When I took it over to his house, the first thing he did was put on the disposable gloves. Been doing the same thing ever since.

How about just grabbing the wheel with a cloth when you move it in the garage?

Don't forget to protect the seat, too!

Jeans really tear that leather up.

If you go to the dealer they take these off and throw them away when they get the cars shipped in. Just ask for one.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh. Maybe it's the painkillers I have been using.

I could just see me saying "Hey hon, I have to run over to the hardware store. Have you seen my driving gloves?" When my wife finished rolling on the floor, she'd go herself so no one she knows would possibly see me.

Road racing or some sort of competitive driving, perhaps. Daily?
