I have recently gone from RF tires to standard tires with sensors. I am in need of a pump/jack/plugs etc. In searching for a pump I found what Amazon reviews rate best and then found the same pump rated by a vendor as best. BUT in the reviews the negative is that more than one mention it repeatedly blows their fuse. A couple mentioned 15 amp fuses. My question is.. first what is the fuse size use in my C5 accessory plug in. Secondly is this a problem others are experiencing... if not what pump are you using THAT YOU LIKE... meaning fairly fast and reliable.
I also went with non-run flats. I got a Victor pump kit at Advanced Auto. It was on sell for $30. Pumps up a tire in less than 3 min. I checked it out, and no fuse blown.
Mike, this is only my opinion... buy the cheapest pump you can get. They are all 12v sealed units.
I've been using mine constantly for the past five years on my bike tires and maintaing a proper PSI level on the Vette's tires. It is still running strong.
My wife gave me a "SLIME" kit with pump for Christmas since I'm scrapped my RF's for something better. I also have a plug kit plus a AAA card so I think I'm covered in case of a tire emergency. I think she got it at AutoSport but I'm not sure.
