I got some Silverstar ultras and put them in because my headlights sucked. I found the driverside misadjusted to ~ 15ft in front of the car. After re adjusting it to match the pass side the bottom of the headlight sticks waaay out from the black bezel unlike the passenger side. It is definately correct now but I am wondering why it looks so funky. The bulbs before and after were properly seated so I have to assume some type of damage to the housing has occured but it seems it must be internal. What can cause this and does anyone else have issues like this?
If the bulb is "tipped" at all,it changes the focal point on the reflector, and you've got to do some major adjusting to get it where it needs to be.
I know you said they were seated correctly, but, since there's not really anything that can go wrong with the reflector, you should check it again.
I've been down this same road when I installed my HID's,and the third time checking the bulb seating proved that I just wasn't pushing "in" quite hard enough on the bulb assy to get all the "ears" to lock in.

I checked, double checked before and after it was misadjusted before and after it seems to be in correctly. I am going to be pulling the cover shortly to get it painted so I will be able to get a better look at it then but I swear it is the housing. The bulb is an exact match to the OEM bulb I took out.

I had the same issue, I am sure the bulb is in wrong, I thought I had mine in right also, But I didn't, After 3 trys I got it seated right, You should not have to adjust anything for silver stars., I would be willing that one of the tabs isn't seated. You are not the first with this issue.

Looked again with the cover off and found someone in the past HAD installed it wrong and fubared the aluminum plate that the bulb fits in and bent one part of it. Gonna have to take the whole headlight off to fix it.

I had the same problem with my HID's. I just could not seat the bulb properly, the space is tight and your working blind. What I did that seemed to help a bit was rub some wax on the socket seat and the tabs and I found that they went in easier and I finally got them seated correctly. It may or may not help but it's worth a shot. Good luck bro!
