and only broke one...... I've been disabled for the last 5 yrs and have learned to do things I used to do, just slower and with more thought. I did have fun though. The point is that a lot of us are beat up but that doesn't mean we have to pay some one to fiddle on our cars for us.
I have learned to set the bar a little lower on my self esteem meter.
I will say that a thick blanket over the fender helps a lot cause I was leaning on it most of the time. I have a very short handled ratchet that worked well in the tight spots. Other than that it as usual, just slower for me.
Congrats on the install! I love working on my Vette. It's therapy to me. Luckily, it's only been the fun stuff, mods and such thus far with no major repairs.
Took me 4 hours too! and I'm not disabled! You're doin good !
I looked at the title and thought that was a good time too. I haven't done mine yet but looking at the lack of space I can easily see myself dragging the process out at least that long

Congrats on getting those plugs done. Nothing wrong with it taking a bit more time to do - whatever it takes to get the job done. The sense of accomplishment is worth it to do things yourself.
Sounds like you did a great job.. I usually donate some blood when I attempt to do thinks myself lately...
Oh yeah that reminds me. One of the best things I have discovered are those mechanic gloves. You can feel the nuts or parts you can't see and they keep your blood where it belongs, even if it's boiling.
Good for you!! I have Parkinson's and pride myself with putting on all of my mods. It takes me longer and my wife volunteers to help but I like to know that I can still do the things I like to do. I have a 08 Convertible and just sold my pick-up to my a low mileage 04 convertible. Hang in there, I intend to drive these vettes into the ground!
Great job! That fighting spirit to persevere is what keeps you going after something ugly happens. I was lucky to inherit it from my mom's side of the family and it's probably the only reason I was able to hang in there after my head injury. It's amazing how life is fine and then in just a couple of seconds it's changed forever.

You get a new perspective. I remember the first time I went to Cosco in a wheel chair. I was very surprised by all the people that wouldn't get out of my way and some that looked perturbed because I was in their way...... By the grace of God I'm getting around without the chair or even a cane. I'll never look at the wheel chair bound the same way again......life lessons #1432 learned. ..... what's next.

Since we don't live that far from each other, I hope I get the chance to meet you at a Corvette event this coming year and shake your hand.
I too got my plugs and wires changed and it only took 17 days, so you did good in 4 hours! I did not do enough research here on the forum and bought the wrong wires. After I ordered the correct OEM red wires from GMPartshouse I did the last five plugs and 8 wires in about two hours.
It may not work for everyone, but to get #7 out I put a swivel socket on the plug, then used one 20" extension, one 6" extension and two 3" extensions for a total of 32" of extension before I could exert enough force with the ratchet to break the plug loose. On #7 and #8 you have to get a little creative and have a lot of patience.
Actually four hours for plugs and wires if you are taking your time and being careful, and it's your first time for this particular vehicle – really is about normal for most people. Probably took me that long and like others have said, I'm not handicapped.
