Default ebcm repair

What is it with the 98 EBCM by delphi. Sent mine to be repaired twice and still getting error codes and dash lights. Also while driving it seems to apply brakes as if the car were in a spin or over steer/understeer, Anybody have any ideas on getting a new one or getting this rebuilt. Many shops only do the 2000 and up.

That is because you have Active Handling - JL9 Feature and more than likely your ABS Module is 9376711 or as GM calls them "Brake Pressure or Control Modulator Valve" (ABS & Traction Control)

"ONLY" the 2001-2004 EBTCM's can be 'Repaired' - unfortunetely the 1997-2000 EBTCM's cannot - so whoever said they could well.....

Is your EBTCM located up front on the Vette or in the rear?

You can interchange any of the Modules that are "ACTIVE HANDLING" JL9 feature (A/H) in those years but not any of the NON-Active Handling Modules (JL4 Non A/H)-

I have a 1998 with NON-Active Handling (JL4) and I can use any of the 1997-2000 modules but I cannot use a module from one of the Vettes that have A/H.

I have all the interchangeable module numbers for the NON-Active Handling modules but not for the Model you have.

You will have to find one with the A/H used, what is the number on the module?

You can also call GM, like I did, and give them your number and ask what part numbers (ALL Part numbers that superceeded yours) are interchangeable!

"IF" it turns out you have the Non A/H (JL4) like mine let me know and I can give you all the cross part numbers

Thanks,Matt

Default backdate z06 ebcm and abs module into 99?

my 99 is ALL front brakes. temps hit 500, rears only 320 or so...

my 03 z06 works all 4

seems simple enough concept to swap ebcm and bpmv and run the hydraulic lines into the new unit.... is this as simple as that or are their other issues?

Won't work no way.

Who did you use for repair? Was it these guys?

Been waiting for some feed back on these guys,

Now just because you have codes doesn't mean the module is bad. What code #'s? Have you gone throught the grounds and wiring? From what I read the grounds are the #1 reason for EBCM codes.

Is your car lowered or have non-oem sized wheel/tire combo? Don't know about the 98's but others have had problems when the rake of the car changes. It doesn't take much to mess things up.

Bosche made them and doesn't have anymore or make them. Still waiting for someone to report a reliable repair source for the pre '00 cars.

This just may be a "LAST" resort for many of us - these are becoming more and more rare to find by the hour!

Thanks for the link - I am going to also forward it to individuals that need it for our 1997-2000

Thanks,Matt
