Default GB: Carbon C5R Lips

Hey guy's just wanted to throw this out there as I have recieved many pm's about the lip. They are currecntly sold out and we are getting them redone so to speak. I told my manufacturer I wanted the lip going up the fenderwell to be thinner so they are going to knock about 1/4 inch or so off of it (which will make it look better) Anyway, with that happening its going to be about a 2 month process (making the new mold and producing them)

With this happening I figured it would be a great time to do a Group Buy on them. This will enable me to order any amount we need for the GB and once your in, you benefit from a better price and a guarantee of getting one from my next batch. I will do these at $375 + shipping and only require 50% down now which is $187.50 and the balance + shipping $85 when they arrive in 2 months. This might make it easier for some as well, since it splits up the total amount. If your interested, please send me a pm for payment details and I will add you to the list. This will run until the first week of Feb then I need to close it to give the manufacturer time to complete them. Onto the pix

Few more pix, but this lip is in fiberglass

GB Pre-Order List

1.driven_fast - $200 down
2.road pilot - (C5R) paid in full
3.DonsLS1 - (C5R) paid in full
4.flash of red - (C5R) Carbon 50% down
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Sounds like a great plan! Per our earlier PM exchange, since this C5R is modeled after the C&C splitter, is your manufacturer trimming the vertical connections so that the splitter supports do not peak out from the front wheel well? Below is the C&C splitter with what I believe is the tapered vertical support bars you mention.

Can you request some additional full car pictures from the owners (especially the blue one if possible). Full car frontal shots and several versions of both front three quarters. Also a full on side shot.

Thanks for making this happen Pete. I was a huge supporter of getting this done, but I'm been grappling with the fact that I think my driveway will rip this off the first time I pull in. I'm trying to get better full car shots to take some measurements at home.

I also struggle with the evil driveway scenerio, however this splitter, unlike a front ACI-like spoiler, sits as high as any splitter I've seen on the market. That's why I like it. I really don't think you're losing too much clearance. Pete mentioned that the C5R sits higher than even the Vortex splitter and below is a great pic that shows the clearance of the Vortex splitter compared to the stock OEM corner fender.

However, my ultimate splitter would be like this one for the C6. Now that's flat!

Any pre-install pic's of the splitter alone, and are there any install instructions available?

Thanks

Dave,

Here is a pic from my other thread with the defective lips

As far as instructions. I have not mounted one, but a couple member have, maybe they can post up what was involved, should be pretty straight forward though.

There is a fix for the driveway bump...I discovered this last summer. I'll start a thread in C5 General to show you guys how to take out around 75% of the bump and keep your drainage functional.

I like that abrupt ending better than the upshoot in the wheel well...glad to hear you are leaning in that direction with the newer version....hmmmm

Hey Chris,

Next time I'm in Katy, i will let you know and we can meet up so you can check it out on the car. It does sit higher than my previous ACI lip and from what I remember, your driveway should be ok.
