No laughing now, but what is the difference with ZO6 brakes and stock. Is it more caliper piston's and larger rotors?
Just thinking since I have 19 inch wheels on order there will be little extra room for bigger brakes.A set of Baer brakes would be nice but there is not kind of money left in the budget so I was thinking ZO6.
Any thoughts or suggestions
They are the same - the Z06 calipers are just painted red.
However, I agree with you that you should look to upgrade your rotors/calipers if you are getting 19 inch rims. RED calipers are always a good addition, and slotted or drilled/slotted rotors are nice too. If you want a big brake kit on the rear, you need to talk about that with your wheel manufacturer, or you may need to grind down the outside of the stock calipers so they wont hit the wheel.
I painted mine red with brush on Duplicolor Caliper paint
When changing pads I used the Duplicolor brush on paint kit for about $15. After removing pads I thoroughly cleaned the calipers and brushed on about 4 or 5 coats of the Duplicolor red caliper paint. Don't wait more than an hour between coats or you will have to wait 24 hours. Single coat looks crappy but 4 or 5 looks great. After a day reassembled calipers with new pads and touched up any areas where I knocked off the paint. Used a touch up pen with white paint to highlight the CORVETTE logos on the front calipers. Did this about 4 years ago and they still look great. Screw the $100 powder coated calipers they are the same just painted red.
