I've got a 98' Triple Black Vert, and am wondering what everyone thinks about adding an accent color to the interior. I recently painted my brake calipers bright red, and painted the corvette letter white... and I absolutely love the contrast of the Black/Red...
My ideas for the interior would to install the Mod Red interior... My seats are in decent shape, but the drivers side foam is "lacking" to say the least. Typically, when I take the Vette, the tops Always down, so this would be a highly visible mod.
What are everyone's thoughts on this? Just getting some ideas for this years mods. Is the "triple black" more desirable than adding some red into the mix? Anyone do this interior yet? Have seen pics of it done?
I have a 99 pewter convertible with an all black interior. I did the same thing with my calipers (red/white letters). I have seen many two tone interiors and they are eye popping gorgeous. After seeing these interiors, it makes mine look very boring. This will be very expensive, so I'll do a little at a time.
Here is a denser foam seat bottom. If you install it, be sure to put a piece of canvas (heavy cloth) under the foam and over the seat wires (they cut into the foam, you will see when you replace),
triple black verts look good. so if you were to put red seats and some red accent like a two tone shifter boot and red ebrake boot and red door handles i think it would look good. just dont over due it to the point where its looking like a lady bug
I have a 2000 C5 Convertiable. I thought the dash was very plain. I ordered red and white decals for the emblem on the steering wheel, red letters for indented Cornette letters above the glove compartment, decals for corvette emblem on door sills, and a plate that goes on ash tray cover.(Shows horse power, compression ect) Red and Black is a nice combination.
I have a triple black vert and decided to keep it black. Red seemed to be over done. Still have not decided what to do to the interior, did add a Double Din Kenwood for some color.
I like the blue. Are you using a backing plate on the pads? Because it looks like you painted the pads right to the calipers.
i was replacing my pads after anyways so i just painted over them. i got tired of my car sitting in the body shop so i started "tinkering" with it. doing little projects while i wait. its a daily driver so i dont get to much down time usually.
i did three coats of high temp chevy engine block blue and a mist of electric blue w/ metal flake.
I added a few torch red accents and recently bought some custom seat skins with the 1" torch red strips. Havent installed them yet but the examples look great!

How long has it held up? I did red on another car and it lasted only a year.
Been VERY tempted to hit mine up with a bright silver or gunmetal.
I kind of disagree. I have an 02 Triple black and have seen them with red calipers and accents. Just not my style but to each his own. I painted my calipers black and added chrome grills to the front brake vents. Also SS vette lettering front and rear. That's about it for the visual stuff. But the real mods have been under the hood. Cold air intake, long tube headers, no converters, and Borla cat backs. Good luck anyway.
