Default PCV question?

I have been complaing about the oil consumption on my 01 Z06 and finally the dealer said it has oil in the pcv system and he also found oil around throttle body. He said this might be the fix for oil consumption. Has anyone else heard or experienced this before.

Thanx

z06 rules, the PCV system will suck oil but just enough to lower your octane and get some ping/knock from it. You may have the ring issue. Do a search, there are lots of post. I would be very amazed if the PCV could suck more then 1/4 qt per 3000 miles. There is a good aftermarket fix for this.

Thanx bigwave....I have been aware of the ring problem and have read most of the discussions about it. I finally have the dealer put my car on oil consumption test. we will see what happens. But the service manager said the oil in the pcv was excessive then it should be..........

Hey JMO but they all say that. That way they bill some more time to GM for warranty work. I could be wrong. I don't trust the service dept to get the truth.
