depends what tire and how you drive in that situation... I got caught in rain once with nt05r's and it wasn't bad as long as you slow down and be cautious... I use mickey thompson et street s/s on the rear now and I also got caught in the rain once... those are far worse than the nittos, I could barely take off from a light and the t/c light would flash and the rear end would start to slide out and I'm only talking about 5mph... it was pretty bad and I had to drive extremely slow

Another vote for mickey thompson ET streets. I have them and have put 6,000 highway miles on the car. Hooks good. Got caught in the rain with them twice and I tell ya...it is not pleasant. 35mph on interstate both hands on wheel

i plan to put my 305/35/18 555r on rear c5z wheels in the front and move my c5z front 17's to the back with new MT 305/45/17 et street radials.
im at 592whp and the 555r's are not quite grippy enough.

You're not going to go wrong with the Mickey's or the Nitto NT05R's. I've had both on my twin turbo car and couldn't really tell a difference between them. If you're a little on the more tame end of the power spectrum, the Nitto NT555R are an EXCELLENT everyday tire. I was running those at 500/521 then 761/760 for power and they were more than capable, and handled inclement weather FAR better than the Mickey's or NT05R's. But when the car was in the mid 700's, they were at the ragged edge of their limitations.

I had 305/35-18 NT555R's on repro 18x10.5's and they fit wonderfully. 305/35-15 MT ET Street Radials on the same wheel, no issues. 305/35-19 Nitto NT-05R's on 19x11 CCW wheels and good fitment.

At your power level and considering that you may need a good all around street driving tire I would recommend the Michelin pilot Super Sports. One of the very best tires you can buy. That being said I think the pilot has been superceded by a new model that's even better.
