Has anyone ever tryed to paint the hood blanket for a cleaner look? I removed my hood blanket to install a decal that I purchased and would like to spay paint the blanket first with some flat black high heat paint.
Yes it is a simple DIY job. Once you have it removed, get a brush and brush all the dirt off that you can. Then vacumn it and you are ready to paint. I used the B-B-Q black paint on mine. One last thing, it is a little easier to install the decal with an extra person if you have someone to help.
Not a great pic but I painted it myself. I used flat black stove paint and then used clear engine enamel to seal it. I painted the Eagle myself. The stripes you see on the liner is the reflection from the chrome on the engine.
Just saw this post for the first time, ran right out and took mine off going to start the paint process tomorrow. Think i will try gloss black for the back ground. Going to pain the plugs bright red as I have a Torch Red 2000, Plugs came out a lot easier than I thought. Hope mine comes out close to the pictures in this post.
