Already going 75 I was not speeding up even more, the 2 ricers passed in the car pool lane, and a junky Dodge 4 x 4 I guess with the group went by, I moved back over to the other lane once I got around the car I was passing.
The Dodge had his engine pegged out pretty good (he was going maybe 80mph) wow that's all he can go with those big tires.
The ricers were weaving in and out.
I have nothing to prove to them, these were junky ricers, beat up 4 door honda with a wing on the back, looked like it had been wrecked and never fixed.
Uh oh, one of them got nabbed by a AZ Hiway Patrol, he got pulled over on the exit ramp I had to take, I drove by with a big smile on my face.

Must be goofy kids, anybody around should know by now the state is hurting and there are cops just looking to write out big tickets!
I see people getting pulled over a lot more since the economy went bad, sometimes 3 or 4 cops pulling cars over in a 1/2 mile section!

These guys were making noise by going WOT and then hitting brakes, swerving around, the ricers must have been going about 85 or more if I had to guess.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
A couple of years ago when I was driving up the highway (not in my Vette) going about 60 when out of the blue, 2 ricers came up on me going about 90. One passed me in the left lane, while the other passed me at the same time on the right shoulder between me and the guard rail. What a bunch of a--holes!

I'm wondering if the sight of a Corvette made them speed up to "show" they can go fast, or if they drive like that all the time.
It sure gets old everybody wanting to race all the time and your just cruising.
I guess we have to take it as a compliment our cars are used as gauge to measure their cars performance!

A kid pulls up beside me in a little chipmunk Honda something-or-other and starts revving his engine, and, believe me,the sound of those 3 or 4 cylinders of raw, surging,Asian horsepower was quite intimidating.
That was scary enough, but then I spotted it! Thats right-a WING,and not just any wing,either-this one was hand-crafted from the finest galvanized sheetmetal, with that stick-on rubber edging covering the jagged parts (apparently, the only sheetmetal tool he had was an axe) and adding to it's "badness" were the mismatched and rusty screws affixing it to this fine asian racing machine.
When the light turned green, his machine made a lot of noise, there was some smoke(not from the tires),and I swear I heard a tire go "chirp"-I hadn't even let the clutch out,and it was over just that fast-he was a good 20 feet ahead of me,pulled over in my lane, rolled down his window, stuck out his arm,and gave me a "thumbs down"
I'm sure he spent the rest of the day telling his "posse" how he blew a Corvette's doors off.
I just shook my head and wondered --"man,was I that much of an a$$clown at that age?"-- I sure hope not.
