What I would do is set yourself up with 2. The first set it up in your bumper behind the Corvette plate cover get a screened one 11X8 should fit with no issues. The second set it up in front of your condenser 11X11. Rout the hoses from the first to the second and it will keep your tranny very cool. Fans are only good when you are stopped thats all.

Also use CASE tranny fluid has a heat index of 500* instead of the 300* of the dextron and will give your tranny a longer life. If you over heat it wont air-rate like the dextron will.

good luck

Good post; I will need a tranny cooler once I get a new tranny. My 3-4 clutches are fried.

If you don't use ms fittings on the hoses it will leak at the connections. Water hose clamps are not the way to go.

Yes they work, I didn't meant they are not turning, but fans are good only when the car is stopped and there is no air moving through the coolers because of air velocity. If your car is moving faster than the fans move air I guess the fans aren't doing much.

Installed a Dewitts w/no transmission cooler and put the largest B&M cooler (cooler alone was $89.00) in along with stainless steel, crimped fitted lines on mine. I wouldn't trust those rubber lines.

Installed the B&M 70264 yesterday. I took it on a 40 minute drive in stop & go traffic and it never got over 160. I drove the same route 2 days before and it hit 193. Only difference was outside temp was 13 degrees cooler yesterday than 2 days before.

We removed the OEM cooler lines to the radiator so just the B&M is cooling the trans.

Sorry to take this in another direction but I would be remiss in not noting Timritchieblue's avatar. Stunning.

Okay.....now back to substantive discussion.

What about your "in town" temps? My highway temps are fine because the TC is locked and not slipping, but around town on a 98* day it's a different story.
I went with the larger 274 because I was a little afaid the smaller 264 might not be able to handle the heat in town.
Did you bypass the rad?
