I just put new C6 Z06 shocks on my 03 Z06 today. My car is lowered on stock bolts. I haven't had a chance to drive the car hard since I got it back but my initial impression is a positve one just driving on city streets and the freeway. I'll post more after I get a chance to drive the car a little more.

I have the C6 Z06 shocks on my 02Z(62k).Best upgrade I've done.Approx $250.

No accel squat,no brake dip and handles very flat & stable.

I got mine from Gene @ GMpartshouse.com. Gene is a trusted vendor and I would recommend Gene for any/all GM parts you need.Got my Hawk pads there too! Best Price around>

Check out the C5 parts list here...

Put the Bilstein sport shocks on recently at 57k miles and love the ride lowered on stock bolts. Also upgraded to the C6 Z51 sway bars, much tighter handling.

I took my 02Z shocks off and installed the 04Z shocks. A few years ago I did a write up on the inital street differences and later on the track differences, it should be in the archives.

I am interested in this because I never understood why people prefer the c6 z shocks over the 04z shocks when the weight distribution for the two cars is different by 3 percent. One would assume then that the c6 z shocks would be set up for a car with 50/50 weight distribution whereas the c5 is more like 53/47. Anyone have specifics on this, or is there a thread that describes this in more depth?

I'm really thinking about getting C6ZO6 shocks.

I have an '02 that I recently put Bilstein's on in place of the '02 stock shocks.

I found it to be the contrary. The Bilstein's in the front are a little softer than the stock shocks.

I'm very pleased with the results for the money.

Yes, but which Bilsteins? There are two different ones with different shock valving.

Sports. It's easily noticeable when you physical try to compress them both.

The valving in the Bilstein Sports on the fronts is identical to the 2004 C5Z damping. In the rear they are a smidgen softer. I posted the damping curves from both at one point, so if you do a search you can probably find it.

Remember that the Bilsteins will last a lot longer than the stock shocks or the C6Z shocks.

Lowered on stock bolts and I Love my Koni FSD's. Aboslutely love them, do a general internet search and I think you'll find some very positive comments.

04Z, Lowered on stock bolts, Bilstein Sports. Best mod I've done to the car.
