Define irony I was on my way to work this morning and stopped to get gas for the vette when I pulled in I saw this yellow vette with black strips on the hood and on the fenders it had ZHZ. I saw the driver coming out of the store and he saw me filling my tank came over and made small talk about how he is renting the car to see if it is the kind of car he would like to buy for his mid-life crises. He said he had it for the weekend and was driving it to work and was pleased with how it drove asked me some questions and I told him to come and check out CF to get more info about C6 vs. C6Z06 and C5’S He said he had to go he was running late and figured with a car like this he could make up some time. I told him to keep it safe and to watch his speed and enjoy it. I went inside to get my change and came out of the store and saw him getting on the freeway and he had the pedal down and was getting it on pretty good. So I got in my car got on the freeway and about 5 miles down the road I see him pulled over by the CHP and this cop didn’t look to happy as he was waving his hands and it looked like he was pissed guess he didn’t listen when I said watch your speed.
When driving a Vette, you have to assume that if there's a cop around, he can't help giving you special attention because he probably is. My advice is to partake some runs at your local drag strip, if you have one. It's cheap, safe, legal and great fun plus you will be less tempted to 'see what it will do' under conditions that will get you into trouble. If it's just a question of being late for work, refer to the first sentence.
That's not irony but "poetic justice". Speeding on a busy HWY is asking for trouble. The cops here in Oregon are working over time. I went to my Dad's, a 16 mile trip, and watched 3 people getting tickets on the way there and 2 people getting tickets on the way back. I like the bumper sticker that says "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't meant they're NOT out to get me".
I get eyed by the man every time in my vette but not even a glimps when I'm in my suburban.
I'd guess this incident will weigh heavily on his decision to not buy a Vette. Well, it's probably just as well. If he needs to satisfy his mid-life crisis let him choose a way that doesn't screw it up for real enthusiasts.

A young man tragically fell to his death this year after a game a Soldier field (beer and love of free style rock climbing induced). When interviewed all of his friends and family commented on what a "down to earth" person he was. That's irony.
