Default **weird maf issues**

I purchased the car a few months back, was running PERFECT not a single issue, the other day I was cleaning the air filter and noticed the MAF was not connected, figured must have came loose when I pulled the air filter as the car has a F1-C Procharger with stage 2 intercooler so its a pain in the butt to get to the filter plus at the same time I was checking all the hoses...

SOOO. I connected the MAF back up * disconnected the battery to let it re-learn everything if it had been disconnected for extended period of time, just playing it safe * now 2 days later I get codes, A more technical description would be that the MAF circuit had higher than expected voltage (air flow). MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0103 and P0104. Once the car hits 4,500-5,000 RPM the engine goes into reduced power, re-set everything and its perfect till It goes into high RPM again... so to test this I disconnected the MAF once again like it was previously, took it for a quick drive and perfect again 4k-6k RPM no issues..

With the MAF connected I was not able to hit enough boost to even spray meth, now that its disconnected again full boost and meth sprays just as its supposed...

DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE?!?! Should I just keep running it disconnected, obviously it was tuned disconnected bc my A/F stays right around 14.7 and connected it drops to 11-12.5...

Last thing I want is this car running lean and blowin the motor

What mods does the car have? sounds like it was tuned for speed density and the MAF fail frequency was set to 0. Even if that was the case though there would have to be an external IAT sensor somewhere.

You AF stays around 14.7 during what?

It kinda sounds like whoever tuned your car didn't know what they were doing. You don't need to unplug the MAF with a SD tune although some people do do it.

I would get it retuned somewhere. Maybe BLOWNBLUEZ06 on here, he does a lot of SD cars...

Speed density means no maf. it can still correct for temp changes - that would be open loop vs closed loop.
