Default Intake manifold gasket

Has anyone ever used Felpro gaskets, specifically intake manifold gaskets? If so are they any good or worthwhile?
Thanks,
Gregg

They are individual gaskets and each has a groove that allows them to seat into the mating interface, and they are keyed.

According to the FSM they are not reusable either. You see why here, once torqued they compress see the different between a new one and old one.

It's not like an LT1 engine.

I can't say if branded Felpro are any good or not, if they are cheaper don't know either. I prefer always OEM parts over third part, but that's just me. But the OEM set should around $54 each discounted cost and you'll also need to foam seals for the front and rear of the manifold which are about $4 each discounted price.

My experience is that Fel Pro is always a better choice.

Thanks for the info.....
I think they're in the $40-$55 from some of the vendors here. Dealer price is $85. Can't see paying that & they're probably not any better. For that price they should come with someone to install them. The reason I was asking about Felpro is they are around $35.00 on-line.
Advance Auto has them for $21.90 including the foam at each end.
If I ordered from a vendor or on-line, would have to wait 4-5 days + shipping. I can pick them up today at advance. Don't get me wrong, money isn't the issue. I can take it to the dealer & pay them $200 to do it. Just tired of the crooks saying, "well, that's what we charge".

I've had them on my FAST 92 for over a year. I think I paid $21 for my set. The kid at the store tried to sale me a set for a Gen I SBC. He told me they were all the same........

Thanks for all the info from all you guys. I have heard they were good & better than most. Your reccommendations are enough for me.
BTW, I'm taking the intake off to change a leaking cam position sensor & o-ring. My filter was leaking after a oil change (by the dealer - $95). Took it off & replaced it. It had a crushed, twisted, wrinkle (take your pick) gasket that caused a slow leak. Anyway, while under the car, noticed a stain, not a leak, on the right (pass.) side. Traced it back to the CPS. so will change it out tomorrow. This is what gripes me. The only thing that you need to replace is the o-ring. But you have to buy the complete sensor from the dealer. You can't buy just the o-ring. Normally, I would say any o-ring will do the trick. GM says it is specifically made for the sensor & not any o-ring will work. So, I don't won't to have to do this twice. I guess the dealer will want my first born as collateral for it.
Rant done, sorry.
Again, thanks
Gregg

Contact Gene or Patrik from GMPartsHouse, they'll be about in the range I quoted. (Cheaper than the local dealer.)

Keep in mind you have to add shipping from these guys, Why not just buy local Fel-Pro and save 40 bucks for the same quality?

I was referring any GM part he/she may want as compared to the local dealer.

If I had know the others were cheaper and just as good, I would have probably bought those and recommended them too. I agree take the savings.

I got the fel-pro from advance auto. Price was $23.99 +$1.68 tax, total $25.67 and no shipping. I think that's pretty good, huh?
They seem to be of good quality, even the foam looks expensive, lol.

BTW, has anybody ever changed the cam position sensor? My car has never been worked on, except for normal routine service. I've never taken the intake off ( or anything else) so this will be a thrill (LOL) for me. Does anyone know of anything special to lookout for? I'm not getting any codes or anything like that.
With a mirror, saw some oil around it. The OPS next to it is clean & shinny. I've heard that the o-ring goes bad causing them to leak.
below is a pic of the CMP with the blue o-ring. Looks like an ordinary o-ring to me & if it is I may just replace it. I don't know how to tell if the sensor is bad itself just by looking at it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gregg

There is a vacuum port on the back of the intake manifold, be sure to disconnect it before removing the manifold, and try to connect it before you slide the manifold all the way back.

Felpro has been around for many years. I didnt even change the gaskets when I switched to an LS6 manifold...and then took it off again when i removed the AIR line months later. Never had a problem.
