Default Help Identify please

Picked up an 04 a couple weeks ago. I know for certain the exhaust and intake are not stock and would like to know what they are. ( Car newbie here )

Any information is appreciated.

Love my new wheels (and my old ones)

I think the exhaust is stock, for a while the C5's came with the exhaust painted black from the factory. Not sure if this was the case in 04 though. I have Corsas and they arent marked in anyway but the tips look differant (I verified this with the factory rep in Carlisle last year, the early corsas in the late 90's had no factory Corsa markings on them).

The intake is a simple K&N set up i think

Just trying to help im not 100% sure on either of them.

Wouldn't a stock coupe cat back have oval tips?

The intake a item that is sold by Mid America Motorsports among others. The air filters are sold separately by K/N. As for the exhaust,it is not stock. The clamps are not correct, the connections should be flanges, and tip should be oval. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure looking at the way the pipes come out of the muffler, they don't appear to be stock.

As mentioned that is a K&N filter system.

Some folks like the rear end painted similar to a C6, I prefer the full color look myself.

What's the history behind this vehicle?

Is there anything stamped on the muffler?

I looked around about the only image I could find quickly showing the stock exhaust:

I had my wife take the pictures I haven't actually had my car on a lift while I was present yet.

History behind the vehicle... well I know very little other than the carfax is clean and it comes out of Texas had it shipped here a couple weeks ago.

The exhaust sounds louder than I would have imagined at high RPMs really nice sound I just was hoping to find out what had been done.

So what I am getting from you guys is that it is either stock with the tips taken off, or not stock but similar?

How many miles?

Is it a manual or auto?

Well as you can see yours has two pipes one out and one in and the stock systems have two out and one in.

Definitely needs a serious clean-up underneath. I just don't have any real images of the underside of mine, it's a daily driver in FL with almost 60K.

Exhaust is definitly not stock. It looks like a homemade setup with the cheapo clamps and spatered welds on the straps. (no offense, I know you didn't do it)

I don't get it. But all the time on the Forum I see it.

Why don't guys ask these questions BEFORE they buy the car?

I am happy with the buy. Besides the dealer isn't going to know all the important **** anyway.

Ram Horn Air Intake:
http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-2-135-7225.html

Pic looks exactly as yours does!

The mufflers are "NOT" stock at all as seen in other pics posted, they look alot like these:
http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-2-119-7776.html

They look like Mid America'a own mufflers with out the tips in the picture, they look like they were painted black too.

Or the CORSA's:
http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-2-119-572.html

They are shapped like these and are probably the same or something very similar

Thanks,Matt

The exhaust is not stock nor is it a Magnaflow either. The way the edges of the ends of the muffler are smooth and rounded is unlike any aftermarket I've ever seen, and I've been modding C5's since my first new '98. I have no idea. The intake is made in different variations by several different vendors.
