ME TOO!!
I found a small black sheet-metal screw under the drivers seat when I was investigating the rocking-chair problem.
Saved the screw for posterity. I think these are probably just screws that fell out of the workers hand when they were assembling them.
Do you have any idea what the number of opportunities for a flaw are on a assembly as complex as an automobile, let alone one as technically advanced as a Z06? I had one GM car I would consider "flawless" (although - with all due respect - I have a hard time accepting that anyone has ever taken delivery of a "flawless" mass-production car) - my wife's Lumina had no problems that we ever had to take it back to the dealer for - but a 16 year old girl soon fixed that to the tune of $10,800 in collision damage.

God, that's the franambulator screw!!!! Don't drive your car until you get it fixed! You're lucky the car runs at all!!!!!!

Sounds like I should go around checking fasteners on my car. Maybe our pals at BG just throw a handful of loose parts into each car to see who's paying attention :)

figment, I'm not so sure about Japanese perfection. I just picked up a new Nissan Maxima SE...beautiful car (used as a daily driver) and it came (from the factory) with the steering wheel off center and a very "crooked" MAXIMA emblem in the rear. Both items were fixed by the dealer within the first week...but my first comment to my wife was that someone must have a had a little too much SAKI the night before.

BTW, the Maxima is my first import ever...I've had roughly over 35 cars since I started driving back in '70.

My last sports car was made in Japan. (Acura Type R). It was flawless. The American legacy car makers still have a ways to go IMO. Although the Z06 is a great car, there are many more build related problems with it than I would expect for this caliber of car.

BTW, I paid STICKER for the Type R, drove it 1 year and sold it for the same price. Still took a bath in taxes and interest, etc. but did much better than I would have with most other cars.
