[Z06] Short Shifter (Again)

Many have simply modified the oem C5/Z06 boot when changing to the C6/Z06 shifter. It's a matter of personal choice.
The C6 shifter lever is bent rearward some which is why it appears to be shorter (in height). Plus the C6/Z06 ergonomic **** sits lower on the lever than does the C5/Z06 square oem ****. That's the significant difference between C5/Z06 shifters and C6/Z06 shifters. Otherwise, they're all made basically the same of stamped steel and rubber isolation. All oem shifters from '97 to present will interchange.
You should be able to find the past threads in C5 Tech with search or search this forum (in the red banner). Use keywords of "modifying c5 boot for c6 shifter". I just tried it and there's plenty to read.
