It is time (due to the age of the existing tires on both Vettes being, respectively, 9 years and 7 years old) to seek new tire replacements.
Since I have been remiss in participating very much in the C5 Section for a long, long time I am looking for suggestions.
First - what I have presently:
The first Vette is a 427 CID (and I do not race or auto-cross) with Michelin PS2's 305 on 19" x 12" (rears) and 265 on 18" x 10" front. These are non- run flats with 16k on them.
The second Vette is a 500+ HP (and it is not raced or auto crossed) with with Michelin PS2's 295 on 19" x 11" (rears) and 265 on 18" x 10" front. These are non- run flats with 9k on them.
What I would like:
- 'match' the sizes, and
- 'run- flats' this time around, and
- 'quite' is a major objective, and
- manufacture warranties and 'road hazard' being a upside.
Not an issue is costs.
So, can you all assist me?
Suggestion on where to purchase would be appreciated!
My last 3 tire purchases have been through Tire Rack.com. Very pleased with price, delivery, warranty. Had them delivered to my local repair shop and they installed, balanced and everything went real smooth. Shopped around for prices and tirerack was right in line with everybody else, just makes it real easy to do it all from your chair. I would stay with the Michelins as they are really taking over as the Corvette tire of choice. I went with non-run-flats for the lower noise and ride comfort. I will rely on AAA for flat tire help but (knock on wood) I have not had a flat tire in 15 years. By the way, the General is now putting Michelins on the C6.

The Tire Rack is at minimum an excellent site for research. They also list qualified installers in your area and will ship directly to them and save you from trying to stuff 4 tires in the Vette. Toyo Proxes on mine too...

Two good sites to buy from are the Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct. I've bought my last two sets from Discount Tire and have been very pleased with the products and service.
NTB on Central in Plano will match Tire Rack price plus what you'd pay for shipping. I've been doing business with them for several years, and always been treated very well.
