Obviously it's your money so you can spend it how you like, but IMO, the stick on ducts are pretty tacky. I know cutting into the rocker panels to install the real deal is not for everyone, but that would be the way I would go if you want rear brake ducts on the car.
Sides scoops are worthless unless they're functional. Even then on a street driven car the effectiveness is questionable. Does anyone actually drive their car, on the street, hard enough to heat up their rear brakes to the point they need extra cooling?
A lot of the time you can tell the stick on ones apart from the real ones, especially in person. They just look sort of flat. If that's what you mean by "any good" then not really. As far as function, the stock on ones obviously do nothing. So they would also not be any good. Basically they are junk. If you want the look then do it right and put real ones on.
I was wondering if those stick on side scoops are any good (Z 06 ) thanks again
You asked if they are any good ! Any good for what? About all they are good for is for someone wanting abuse for a bad decision. Of Course, someone's bad decision is someone Else's chance for flagrant verbal abuse authorization.
There's a guy that shows up to the Bob's Big Boy I attend on Fridays with the stick on side scoops. It's pretty stupid looking in my honest opinion. They even look like stick ons... Very flat looking and what not... I was commenting to my friend how bad they looked and didn't realize the owner was standing right next to me while I was saying it. (oops)
There's a chance that the owner is on this forum too. LOL I won't go into the other appearance mods that were on this car, but I have to say that the stick ons went "well" with all the other "mods" on the car.
I have a feeling you really knew the answer before you even asked your question. They look fake and you'll only get ridiculed for putting them on, they're just a bit more than hokey. If you don't do the real thing, please don't don't do it at all. If you must then you should also install some Buick-type portholes on your hood.
If you like "boob jobs", you will love them. They may get someone to turn their head, but after all is said and done you are just squeezing water balloons.
Even the real ones look like an after-thought (which they most likely were), but if you are going to the track and need additional cooling, looks better than just drilling a big unfinished circular hole in the side!

It's your money and your car but in the end you'll be more satisfied by just doing it the right way.
To me putting on scoops is the equivalent of throwing on Z06 badges, but a buddy of mine added some and ended up removing them fairly quickly. They didn't look good at all.
