I have run 18x9.5 front and 18x11 rear (see avatar), There have been Track day drivers that use the early ZR-1 17x11s all around early on C-5s because of tires that were available at the time.
Be carful about how the off-set of the front wheels will effect steering, clearances, and overall balance in the handling.
I run 18x10.5 on all 4 corners with 275/35/18 tire up front and 295/35/18 out back. No issues here. I'm moving to 19's all-around soon, so these will be for sale
This would be for a daily driver with some possible spirited driving and mountain driving. Previous coupe had 18s on all four corners, but the fronts were an inch narrower than the rear.
Search on this topic. One thing is that on the street the front end will hunt in grooves more than with stock narrower tires. For street only I'd be careful not to run wide tires. It is appealing for rotating tires though. That's one reason why I did it but I track the car.
I've heard of people running into active handling/traction control issues if the fronts and rears are too close in diameter. if the rear doesnt rotate a tiny bit slower than the fronts, it thinks you're spinning and will cut power, so make sure the tires are different sizes if you're running the same size wheel on all four corners.

I've heard that too, but in my case I have not had a problem.
Personally I think that equal size wheels all around is a better handling setup. Not sure why corvettee goes with a smaller wheel in front as no other high performance sports car does.

You mean smaller as in diameter, right? because it's pretty common to see a narrower tire up front on RWD cars...
